I recently had the opportunity to address the significance of youth participation in the Indonesian Parliament (DPR RI) and the importance of creating space for young change-makers to be heard. Regardless of taking sides, it is crucial for experienced leaders to open their minds and actively listen to the ideas and concerns put forth by the younger generation. It is perplexing to witness the continuous underestimation of youth when it comes to innovation, especially considering their potential to provide innovative solutions to pressing issues. There is a lingering question as to why people fail to recognize the transformative power of youth and their ability to contribute to problem-solving. I remain hopeful that, one day, we will witness positive change and progress in Indonesia's democracy. Let us continue to advocate for the involvement of young people in the legislative process, ensuring that their voices are heard and their perspectives are taken into account in the formulation of important laws and regulations.
